Jillian Vento was born in Boston, MA and is currently living and working in Portland, OR. She holds her Masters of Fine Arts from Portland State University.

She has worked in libraries, sewers, fields of organic vegetables, coffee shops, and academia.

Her current work explores contemporary relationships with the land, in the contexts of mythology, psychology, philosophy, and biology. She divides her time between metropolises, mountains, forests, deserts, and farmlands, always ending up back at the sea.
